Curriculum
The Falcons Pre-Preparatory School for Boys has a well-founded reputation for being a friendly, caring and highly successful pre-prep school for boys aged 3-7 years. The curriculum provides a rich framework where literacy and numeracy are taught thoroughly, whilst also offering the breadth and variety in which an individual's creativity can be developed through academic work and artistic skills. Each year group holds a curriculum evening at the start of the academic year, when parents are given in-depth information on subjects and topics to be covered. We aim to keep teacher pupil ratios to a maximum of 1:18, small enough for individual attention and large enough for group activities and discussions to thrive. Boys, including our Nursery, are taught by their class teachers for all subjects except French, PE, Games and Music, which are taught by specialist teachers. All classrooms are equipped with whiteboards and a computer, and our IT suite accommodates a complete class. Sport features highly in the timetable - we have a well-equipped gym, the playground is used for outdoor games, and, from Reception upwards, each class visits a local games field once a week. Swimming may be offered during the Spring and Summer terms at the local pool. We welcome children from all religions and faiths, and although the school itself is non-denominational, we visit our local Church of England for our harvest festival and carol service celebrations. All the main faiths are taught, and our assemblies reflect the current issues within the school, our community and in the outside world
