Sports

The Falcons prides itself on providing an extremely balanced education. Academic life is enhanced and supported by the nurturing of our boys' emotional, social and sporting development in school. PE and Games features strongly from as early as Nursery all the way to Year 2.

At the Falcons we believe in exposing the boys to as many sports as possible, creating the opportunities for them to discover the activities most suitable for their personal sporting futures. The focus of our PE Department is the development of sports specific skills, sportsmanship and the introduction of games that enables the boys to hone skills for any sport they might encounter in future. Balance, hand-eye coordination, catching- and throwing skills, aiming activities, spatial awareness, team work, passing skills and much, much more.

During the course of the year we enhance the PE curriculum with a Spring-into-Spring Sports Day, Summer Sports Day, Father-and-Son Football World Cup for Year 2's, Games sessions on Fridays, swimming in Summer and Spring terms, a combined Sports Day with the Falcons Preparatory School for Year 2 -4 boys as well as competing in Football and Cricket against neighbouring schools.

To promote the development of sportsmanship qualities as well as participation in our boys, we have various awards for participation in PE and Games. The "Order of the Falcons" medal for sportsmanship is awarded every week in assembly. Boys also compete for "The Football" (A brand new football for them to keep.), awarded for improvement in any aspect of their physical development.

The Falcons uses Westminster University Grounds in Chiswick for Games sessions and fixtures.
