Charity Walk: Howard's Way 2011
At the end of September
Mrs MacDonald will be walking 85 miles along the Dales Way in 3 days, raising money to fund research into Pancreatic Cancer. To support Mrs MacDonald and to encourage the boys to really participate in fund raising for charity, we propose to hold a sponsored walk for the boys on Friday, 4th November during their games sessions.
As there are 86 boys in Years 1 and 2, we thought it would be a good idea for the boys to walk 1 mile each- 1 teacher walks 85 miles 86 boys walk 1 mile. We will set out a shorter course for the Reception and Nursery boys. We will be talking to the boys about the sponsored walk in assembly and Mrs Walsh, our chef, will have a special "energy food‟ day on the day of the sponsored walk. Sponsor forms will be taken home over half term for the boys to collect sponsors.
We have already raised over £400 from the collection after Cinderwilkie, thank you everyone. The aim of the walk is to raise at least £50,000 to continue funding the research graduate that has been funded for the last three years.
