Grandparents Tea Party

World War II was a terrifying time to be a child or young person, as they were mostly forced to hide in Air Raid Shelters during the night, food was rationed and the constant fear of bombing raids must have been aweful. It is difficult to explain those feelings through books and other media. Who better to explain this to the boys, than the people that actually had to live through it.

The year 2's invited their grandparents to have tea and discuss all that they had to endure during those long years of fighting. It was an amazing learning experience that money simply cannot buy. A big thank you to all of those grandparents, who were able to join us and who were willing to share their stories and experiences with the boys. 

Some even brought along original gas masks and war medals dating back all those years. Truly an honour to have met them.
