Heroes for Haiti
The boys and staff managed to raise over £700 over the two days of our competition. In response to the Haiti earthquake and subsequent disaster the boys at the Falcons decided to do their bit to support the amazing relief effort by "Our Heroes". These are the unsung heroes that offer their time to aid in the rescue and relief efforts in disaster areas around the world.
They could be police officers, fire fighters, soldiers, doctors, nurses, engineers or any person that puts their fellow human beings' needs before those of their own. Most of the boys created their own costumes, symbolising these courageous people. The boy with the most original costume received a special prize in our Haiti assembly.
Boys also entered the "Spot the Flag" challenge, where Haiti's national flag were posted all over school. All the boys with the correct number of flags were entered into the draw. One prize was awarded to a boy from each year group.
The class raising the most money received an hour of "special sports games" of their choice. This was shared between year 2M and 2R, who will now both receive their special sessions from Mr Weyers.
A special mention has to go Monty for raising more than £100 on his own. He will also receive a special prize, although being Monty is a special prize in itself! Well done to all the boys and staff and the money will be donated to a relief agency to support their efforts in Haiti.
