Message from the Headmaster:
How does one sum up the end of term and end of year. Today has been a very hard day as we said goodbye to so many wonderful families and boys! The emotions are always high, but they are good emotions. There are feelings of nostalgia and excitement as many boys leave us after four years of walking through the blue door. There have been many changes over the last four years but the one constant thing has been the lovely children we get to work with every day. They are the reason we are all here! The rapport with families is something which we thrive on and our boys benefit from.
It was wonderful to have the two ex-Falcons boys who went from the Nursery to Year 8 come back and give us their words of wisdom at our prize giving. I listened carefully to their inspiring message, which I understand from the buzz amongst parents, was greatly appreciated.
I thoroughly enjoyed our Art Exhibition last night. I find a whole school parents’ evening right at the end of term coupled with a wonderful celebration of the boys’ art work, an excellent way of tying up all the loose ends before the summer holidays.
As I mentioned in my headmaster’s report, I am looking forward to the next academic year in so many ways. There is so much in store for the three Falcons schools. I look forward to welcoming Miss Buchanan and Mrs Williams-Ryan into our Falcons family. Thank you to Mrs Bayliss for all she has done at our Prep School, she has achieved so much in a very short space of time.
If I did not see you at the gate today, I hope you have a wonderful summer holiday with your boys. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you on behalf of all the staff for all of the generous gifts we received today. The cards from the boys are always the best and often so funny.
